Meet the PARC Program Board

The PARC board (pictured above, left to right) is chaired by Brian Thompson, Senior Vice President, People's Bank/Bank of American Fork. Other board members include the following: ​

​The PARC Tax Advisory Board consists of seven non-paid committee members who account for all requests for PARC funding from various groups.

The Board's objectives are:
  1. To organize and administer details of the PARC Program*;
  2. To reach out to qualifying organizations in the City of American Fork; and
  3. To make PARC funding recommendations to the City Council.

Based on the Board's recommendations, the City Council will approve the distribution of PARC Tax funds in accordance with Utah Code Ann. 59-12-1403 and American Fork City Ordinance No. 2014-12-46 for the purpose of funding eligible cultural arts facilities and organizations and recreational facilities. 

The Mayor appoints PARC Board members from independent applicants who reside within the City of American Fork, and whom the City Council deems as impartial representatives. 

Note: The American Fork City Council with the recommendation of the PARC Tax Evaluation Committee shall distribute the entire amount of revenues and interest collected as a result of the imposition of the sales and use tax known as the PARC tax in a manner consistent with Utah Code Ann. 59-12-1403, which allows for:

1.1       Granting to one or more organizations or facilities as defined in Utah Code Ann. 59-
            12-702;
1.2       Interlocal agreement as provided in Utah Code Ann. 59-12-704; and,
1.3       Retaining a portion of the tax collected, not to exceed 1.5%, for the cost of
Administering the PARC program.
