PARC Survey Objectives
In 2019 the PARC Board commissioned a survey to understand what American Fork resident's perception was of the PARC program. Their were 4 major objectives of the survey:
Survey Process and Results
The Board hired Y2 Analytics to perform the survey and analyze the results. For this survey 391 American Fork City residents were sampled from the Utah state voter file, with emails appended from a third-party vendor. Survey invitations were sent via both email and mail; all interviews were completed online. The data were weighted to reflect the demographics of residents in American Fork City, specifically in regard to age, gender, and home ownership. The survey was conducted from Aug, 29 to Oct 9 of 2019. According to Y2 Analytics, the top 5 findings in the survey were as follows:

In 2019 the PARC Board commissioned a survey to understand what American Fork resident's perception was of the PARC program. Their were 4 major objectives of the survey:
- Gather perceptions of the current state of parks, recreational facilities, and arts and cultural programs in the city.
- Determine citizens priorities in regards to allocating PARC tax funding, i.e. what proportion should be designated for parks and recreation versus arts and culture, respectively.
- Explore citizens’ sentiments regarding what projects and organizations should be funded by the city in each category of the PARC tax.
- Gauge residents’ evaluations of PARC tax spending over the past 4.5 years.
Survey Process and Results
The Board hired Y2 Analytics to perform the survey and analyze the results. - American Fork residents are significantly more interested in recreation and parks then they are in art and culture.
- Art Dye Park, the City Library, and the American Fork Fitness Center are all the most commonly visited and favorite facilities among residents.
- A plurality of residents are unaware of the PARC initiative. However, half of them are still able to recognize the logo.
- The best way to contact American Fork residents is through the city newsletter and encouraging word of mouth communication.
- Residents are more interested in putting funds towards updating parks and bike areas then they are towards cultural preservation and arts appreciation.
